The Currency Converter converts between around 30 major world currencies using European Central Bank reference exchange rates, updated on weekdays. Unlike this platform's other calculators, currency rates change constantly and can't be built into the page — so this tool fetches live rates through a small server-side function each time you load it, rather than running entirely in your browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
How current are the exchange rates?
Rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, published on weekdays at around 16:00 CET. They are not real-time intraday rates, so they're suitable for general reference but not for time-sensitive trading decisions.
Why doesn't this tool work offline like the calculators?
Exchange rates change constantly and can't be baked into the page in advance, so this tool needs a live network request each time it loads — unlike this site's purely client-side calculators, which work with no connection at all.
Which currencies are supported?
Around 30 major currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, and INR. Some smaller or less commonly traded currencies aren't included.
