About this tool
The PDF Splitter extracts the pages you choose — a range like 2-5, individual pages like 1,3,7, or a mix like 1,3,5-8 — from a PDF into a new, smaller PDF file, in the order you specify. Everything happens in your browser: your original file is never uploaded, and the extracted pages never leave your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
What format should I use for the page selection?
Comma-separated page numbers and/or ranges: '1,3,5-8' extracts pages 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Pages are added to the output in the order you list them, so '5-8,1' puts pages 5 through 8 first, then page 1 at the end.
Can I split a PDF into one file per page?
Not directly with this tool — it produces one combined PDF from your selected pages. To get individual single-page files, run this tool once per page you want extracted.
Will this work on password-protected PDFs?
No — encrypted or password-protected PDFs can't be read by the in-browser PDF library this tool uses.
